Normally we loosen the strings during shipment in order to avoid damage or crack of the headstock and the neck of the guitar. It is a Company policy to detuned a guitar when shipping via air, where it might be in an unpressurized baggage compartment. I think the strings should be kept at pitch - but you should check and adjust them if they are getting sharp (which can happen with temperature and humidity changes.) If your new Top Guitars instrument's playability is compromised in any way, then the neck might just need a simple truss rod adjustment to correct any problems. All you need are very basic mechanical skills. Your guitar will come 100% assembled and set up in the box. All you will have to do is tune the guitar and possibly make a truss rod adjustment using the truss rod wrench. Guitar necks are crafted from wood, and they will sometimes shift during shipping and as the temperature/humidy/elevation changes.

You may adjust the tuning of the guitar as soon as you receive it just to be safe for the guitar since it will travel from a long journey.
